  • Monday through Friday
  • From 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.


Be prepared to provide your Social Security number and other identifying information for verification.


4. Check Your Bank Account or Direct Express Card

If you receive your SSDI payments through direct deposit or a Direct Express debit card, you can:


  • Log in to your online banking account or Direct Express portal
  • Call the customer service number on your debit card to confirm deposits


When Are SSDI Payments Issued?

SSDI payments are typically issued based on your date of birth:


  • 1st – 10th: Paid on the second Wednesday of each month
  • 11th – 20th: Paid on the third Wednesday of each month
  • 21st – 31st: Paid on the fourth Wednesday of each month


If the payment date falls on a federal holiday, you will receive your payment on the business day before.

  • Wait at least three business days after your expected payment date before contacting SSA.
